The prevalence of Early Childhood Caries in Newark, New Jersey
- Epidemiological study sampled 609 subjects ranging in age from 6 months to 6 years to determine the prevalence of Early Childhood Caries, Including and excluding pre-cavitated lesions.
- Results Indicated that 56% of the sample population experienced ECC when pre cavitated lesions were included and 49% when excluded.
- We concluded that the inclusion of pre cavitated lesions yielded a statistically significant difference in the prevalence of ECC in the sample population.
